We would like to extend a HUGE congratulations to our beekeeping boys at Buzz Apiaries for taking home a couple awards the other night at the Ballance Farm Environment Awards.
The boys won the “Massey University Innovation Award”, with the judges commenting that at “Buzz Apiaries Limited, challenge initiates innovation”. Their development of the fully biodegradable varroa mite strips is one of many examples of their innovation feats. They have “a willingness to try new techniques throughout the business, and share their successes with the wider industry”.
Buzz Apiaries also won the “Pukekauri Farms People in Agriculture Award”. The judges commented that “River, Blair, Corban and Lochie are an outstanding example of strong mentoring, career development, work/life balance considerations and an ethical business model.” Adding that “the boys pride themselves in their strong relationships with their landowners and are passionate about promoting sustainable practices”.
